| Writer's Block: Bottoms up! |

Before 6th grade I always spent it with my sisters and my parents, eating yummy snacks, renting lots of movies, and watching the ball drop. 6th-10th grades I always hosted New Years Eve parties. Then 11th grade I spent it with my then-boyfriend, 12th grade I spent half with my good friend, and half with my then-boyfriend and his friends (which is where I first met Aaron!), and then in college I think the first couple of years were at parties with people I graduated with. Then the second half of college when Aaron and I were engaged we spent NYE with his family. They had lots of good food and we played games together :)
Last year I believe was our first NYE on our own. We were in Chicago so when we watched the ball drop, it was only 11 PM our time, but being parents of a 3 month old, that was just fine and we went right to bed. This year, I doubt we'll both be awake when the clock turns midnight since we have a newborn, but I am sure we will have some good snacks and some bubbly.
I honestly don't reflect that much at the New Year. I'm pretty much always aware of what I am screwing up and what I am doing well. I ALWAYS vow to do something better at the new year, and it doesn't always stick, and I usually forget about it, but it feels good to attempt to be a better person anyway. |
